Mountain biking is a great adventure in Matagalpa, which is a department with a very interesting topography, becoming one of the most mountainous in the country. Its beautiful landscapes hide indigenous peasant communities, rivers with strong currents, forests and production of high quality coffee.

You will have the opportunity to go cycling through the Cerro Arenal and Cerro Apante nature reserves, the latter being the highest mountain surrounding the city. The variety of trails and delightful climate of these two places, make them the perfect mountain biking destinations.

While in Matagalpa, you will visit an organic chocolate factory, learn about the most important events in the history of cacao production in Nicaragua, and finally, taste this rich chocolate with a cup of coffee.
